Two articles from veteran journalists today. The first from Anthony Shadid, reminds why he wins the big prizes — it seems obvious to interview Iraq’s insurgents to find out why they fight, but no one seems to do it very well. His works, I think, not just because he speaks Arabic, but because he simply spent a bunch of time with this guy. The second is from Rod Nordland, who I guess we can call a resident of Baghdad at this point — he seems to have been there forever.
I am assuming this is Rod, despite a typo on the website that says Rob, and I also assume he’s writing from Iraq.
