We’re knee-deep in the throes of holiday hell, but Murray Hill’s new show MURRAY HILL ON ICE will help you see this time of year in a more positive light—rather than, say, the time you are forced to hang out with the dysfunctional people you call family. Featuring trusty cohorts the Murrayettes, burlesque ladies, the Wau Wau Sisters, as well as Murray’s long-standing musical partner, pianist Lance Cruce, the show promises to be a gay cabaret. Wednesday @ 9:30, Saturday & Sunday @ 10:30, Fez, 380 Lafayette, 212.533.7000

NEGROCLASH, one of APT’s most popular parties, is turning one this week. (Funny, it seems like it’s been around forever. It must be lying about its age.) To celebrate, organizers have convinced electronic music legend Marshall Jefferson to stop by for a spin. Jefferson had a hand in creating the acid-house sound (long before the Brits got their little paws on it) and most famously produced Phuture’s “Acid Tracks” before heading out on his own to make deep house. He’s joined by Negroclash residents Duane, Lindsey, and DJ Language. Thursday @ 9, APT, 419 W 13th, 212.414.4245.

Most DJs are dumber than rocks, but Brit jock Ewan Pearson has a master’s degree in philosophy and cultural studies, should you want to have a chat with him after his set this week. An artist on the influential house label Soma Records, he’s been producing since 1996, churning out remixes for artists like Goldfrapp and Nelly Furtado, as well as working with ex-Gus Gus vocalist Hafdis Huld on his forthcoming solo record. He plays with residents JDH & Dave P. Saturday @ 10, Tribeca Grand, 2 Sixth Ave, 212.519.6600
