Meanwhile, on the Bloomberg Website . . .

The furor over Freddy’s fib had the Ferrer campaign and, one imagines, reporters scouring the Mike Bloomberg 2005 Website for similar flubs. Hmmm. It says here he’s the 108th mayor of the city. But hey, does Joseph V. McKee really count? And this section dubbed Vision for the Future—it says Mike would “like to invite you to join our team and share your dreams for New York. Together, we can turn our dreams into reality.” But what if my dream is ice cream sundaes in every mailbox and cats that can talk? Can that be reality, Mister I’m-a-mayor-who-gets-stuff-done? But enough of the silly stuff; let’s move on to something important, like the poll question on the site: Who will win the Super Bowl? The only choices are the Giants (52 percent) and the Jets (47 percent). Talk about manufacturing consent. I mean, where are the Pats? And even worse, a previous survey question found 55 percent say Seinfeld was their favorite sitcom. The Cosby Show, The Honeymooners, I Love Lucy, and All in the Family follow. What, Mr. Belvedere wasn’t even nominated? Oh, the outrage!
