Wow, a few black spraypaint blobs really made our day. A couple weeks ago when that anonymous group of self-important asshats wheatpasted crazy-talk manifestos along Bedford Ave, we complained that while they claimed to be protesting street art’s extended commercialization, they completely ignored a nearby Tats Cru mural advertising the E! series Starveillance. Sorry Tats Cru, but we find it hard to get behind street shilling like that.
So imagine our joy walking down Bedford Ave, expecting again to be mildly annoyed by the Demi/Ashton/Bruce caricatures on the corner of North 5th, and noticing that the Starveillance mural got hit! We aren’t big-headed enough to think we had anything to do with this, but whoever you are, you totally made us laugh. Word.
