Last night, sometime between when we were installing the Kaboom! cleaning system in our toilet tank and when we were bathing our giant dog in the tub, David Chang was being named the Rising Star Chef of the Year. Other New York winners are Michael Laskonis of Le Bernardin for Outstanding Pastry Chef, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon for Best New Restaurant, and David Waltuck of Chanterelle for Best Chef: New York City.
