Top Chef, Caribbean Edition


Say hello to the future of Caribbean food in New York. This is Sharada Winston, a student at The Art Institute and the winner of yesterday’s Caribbean Cook-Off in DUMBO. Six culinary students, the finalists of a city-wide competition, presented dishes to three judges (from the Food Network, Nia Online, and Restaurant Business Magazine. When Winston’s dish, “Escoveitch Jumbo Shrimp”, won first place (and an internship at Walkerswood Caribbean Foods in Jamaica), she burst into tears, Miss America style. We loved her and her super-hot shrimp. Congratulations!
