The first things you’ll notice about London’s Nigerian singer Wunmi are her wild hairstyles, funky clothes, and sleek muscular frame. Then she opens her mouth. What comes out only makes you want to do one thing—dance. The touring vocalist happens to be an Afrobeat goddess, singing house and Fela Kuti–esque tunes with an explosive bravado that’s addictive. Seriously, it’s hard for anyone in the audience to keep still. Plus, she dances like there’s no tomorrow! Tonight, she sings at the Next Level Party, while house vets DJ Disciple, DJ Rich Medina, and up-and-coming turntablist in the underground house scene DJ Sabine lend their skills to raise funds for the annual International African Arts Festival. Prepare to break a sweat!
