Museums & Galleries

By this time of year, we’re all longing for those summer nights of dancing under the stars. Fortunately, tonight’s One Step Beyond dance party offers choice celestial views via the American Museum of Natural History’s Hayden Planetarium, which will be turned into a super disco with hip-hop legend DJ Jazzy Jeff manning the musical helm and DJ Dirty Finger setting things off with ’80s Euro new wave, Latin soul, and retro rock. Jeff fills just about any joint he steps into, so it’s guaranteed to be packed. You can also check out screenings of Cosmic Collisions—the museum’s latest immersive theatrical space show—every half-hour, which should lend to some pretty damn entertaining dance breaks.
