No one’s had this much fun with Freud’s concept of children being “polymorphously perverse” since Woody Allen, who (naturally) created more than one female character who—like Freud’s tots—was turned on by just about everything. Artists Tim Noble and Sue Webster hope to evoke the same gratification that you had sucking on your bottle in their latest exhibition, Polymorphous Perverse, which got its art-world debut at the Freud Museum in London. The main sculptural piece, titled Scarlett, is a work table strewn with various mechanical toys sucking, fucking, rubbing—and they’re activated by the viewer! So whichever way you walk around this piece, you will get sucked in.
