Brooklyn’s Chinatown, on 8th Avenue in Sunset Park, is one of my favorite places to eat. That cart pictured to the right is at 55th Street and 8th Avenue. The woman inside makes all sorts of noodles—chewy cylindrical steamed rice noodles, and nicely al dente fried lo mein. She also makes those silver-dollar-sized sweet, eggy cakes that you get by the dozen in little wax paper sacks.
More, after the jump
To the left, Cantonese barbecue at Sun’s BBQ Restaurant (4924 8th Avenue).
Mmmmm….bahn mi. Above, the barbecue pork version from Tan Thanh (5818 7th Avenue). The sardine version is also delicious.
Lychee and other fruit, beautiful and cheap.
