Unabashed ’88 rap obsessives The Cool Kids dropped The Bake Sale on iTunes this month, finally anteing up on a couple year’s worth of hype. Their ghetto-blaster-, bikes-, shell-toe-sneakers-, 808-drums-, and flattop-fixated EP will be comfort food to those who grew up on rap in the ’80s, and utterly unfamiliar to those who did so in the post-Chronic ’90s. Never mind, of course, that neither of the two Cool Kids MCs are a day over 23—they do a great impression. With HEAVy(BBE), Mickey Factz, and Egg Foo Young.
