With an Urban Outfitters recently opened and an Ikea on the way, Brooklyn is feeling less like—well, Brooklyn. But at least the Atlantic Avenue ArtWalk is still around to help keep the BK feeling like home. Along with the open studios and guided tours, the
ArtWalk—now in its fifth year—includes a live-music series and special attractions like Kim Holleman’s mobile-art trailer park; Martin Sobey’s street-site art, installed during the ArtWalk to interact with visitors; and a live painting demonstration by Donato Giancola, who’s done covers for National Geographic and The Lord of the Rings.
