Just south of Central Park, a few yards from the Pulitzer fountain where a near-nude Zelda Fitzgerald famously frolicked, is an unheralded New York treasure: the ladies’ room at Bergdorf Goodman. This sanctuary, open to all (well, all females) and located in the cosmetic department on the lower level, is a bower of pink marble, bright mirrors, and comfy boudoir chairs. In addition to the facilities one would expect, there are hand towels embossed with the store’s name (souvenirs!) and an array of free products, which on a recent afternoon included items with names like Jo Malone Grapefruit Gel and Laura Mercier Soufflé Body Crème.
