Wanna see emo kids, goths, rockeros, and hipsters all partying together in perfect harmony? Stop by the ninth annual Latin Alternative Music Conference, five fun-filled days spotlighting some of the edgiest Latin alt-rock acts around. Aside from the networking aspect and panel discussions on everything from licensing to mastering the blogosphere (including “The Music Industry: How Not to Get Played Like an Idiota”), the great thing about this conference is the abundance of musical showcases (Manu Chao, Café Tacuba, and Kinky have all played LAMC in the past) and parties happening in venues around the city. Scheduled to perform this year are Sussie 4, Brazilian Girls, DJ Bitman, and Julieta Venegas. Tonight, catch the first indie showcase with Zigmat and Forro in the Dark, at the Mercury Lounge on Houston Street.
