“Person(s) of Interest” Questioned in Queens Rapes

A string of at least 14 rapes in southeast Queens is thought to be the work of one or two men. Today two news reports referred to a police detainee, or two police detainees, thought to be connected with the case.

A 15-year-old involved in a July 26 rape in Springfield Gardens has been detained by police at the 113th Precinct, says the New York Daily News, and is being investigated in relation to the other cases.

And WBCS says that a “person of interest… not considered a suspect,” not identified by age, is talking to detectives at the same stationhouse.

Both articles mention that one of the victims reported her assailant had the letter D tattooed inside his right wrist.
