From a behind-the-scenes look at the Miss Gay America pageant to the questions a single mom faces when it seems her cross-dressing, cheerleading nine-year-old son is gay, this year’s Best of the NewFest is a not-to-be-missed collection of the greatest hits from the LGBT Film Festival, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in June. The final day of the three-day series includes Maneater, a 90-minute collection of the strongest shorts from the festival about men; Ebony Chunky Love, a documentary on the stand-up Keith Price and his experiences growing up gay and black in Texas; and The Lost Coast, which follows a group of old friends on Halloween night in the Castro.
