When the email from Our Man Sietsema popped into my box bearing the subject line “Edible Eyes,” I thought there were various scenarios possible.
Perhaps he’s found a restaurant where the eyeballs are particularly tasty? Given Our Man Sietsema’s culinary leanings, they would most likely be goat or lamb eyeballs…
I clicked, with some trepidation. But it turned out to be this link, to quite possibly the most amazing recipe of all time, for completely edible googly eyes. And there’s instructions on how to use them to make this unlovely fellow, pictured above, who is called the Flying Spaghetti Monster, natch.
