John McCain likes it hot: Yesterday afternoon, John McCain and running mate Sarah Palin showed up at El Pinto, a popular Albuquerque restaurant. McCain bought two jars of the restaurant’s famous salsa, in medium and hot, and Palin bought medium green chile sauce and roasted green chile. The hot food strategy did not work so well for Hillary Clinton. [AP]

Gordon Ramsay will never go away: Today, Ramsay told the Post that he’s planning on opening a restaurant similar to his London gastro-pub, Foxtrot Oscar, in New York. In the interview, he compares Foxtrot Oscar to the Spotted Pig, an analogy that might not go over well with some. Ramsay’s first New York restaurant, Gordon Ramsay at the London, was met with muted reviews. [NY Post]
