Hannah Upp, a Spanish teacher at Harlem’s Thurgood Marshall Academy, went missing August 29. Her disappearance is the subject of a Facebook page, an “America’s Most Wanted” alert, and dozens of news items. On Sunday the New York Post revealed that the 23-year-old had last year taken an unannounced leave of absence from her job, for which she was reprimanded. Now it’s reported that Upp was recorded on video Monday morning at the Apple Store on Fifth Avenue, where she was apparently checking email. We sincerely hope Upp is just taking a holiday from her life, not least because it would be nice to know you can still do that in New York.
