As we mentioned earlier, the New York Sun has money trouble and prominent New Yorkers have been stepping up to offer the floundering daily their verbal support. Today the paper gets a plug and a scoop from Eliot Spitzer, giving “his first public comments on any topic since he resigned from office,” notes the Sun with pride and without mentioning the circumstances of his resignation.
Spitzer says the Sun “has been a spectacular addition to the city’s political discourse and is one of the finest papers in terms of editing, writing, and analysis that one can find anywhere.”
The item also includes praise for the Sun‘s superb arts journalism by our own Nat Hentoff.
