The International Federation of Competitive Eating sent me a press release on an upcoming competition yesterday, but it doesn’t involve food. Apparently, starting on October 2, eight competitors, including Crazy Legs Conti, will compete in the Netflix Popcorn Bowl–a movie-watching championship. The competitors will sit in a plexi-glass “living room” in the middle of Times Square and will watch movies continuously for something like 5 days. (The world record, 120 hours, is held by Ashish Sharma, who will be defending his title.)
The rules of the game: You can’t take your eyes off the screen for more than a few seconds, and between each movie there’s a 10 minute break. No sleeping.
Dale and Thomas will be providing all-you-can-eat popcorn. Someone better tell them Crazy Legs is coming.
