More Questions on City’s School Grades


We pointed out yesterday that the improved Progress Report grades given to many public schools this week were not universally seen as totally legit. The Brooklyn Eagle is also questioning the “bizarre disconnect between the city’s Progress Reports and actual school accomplishment.” Schools with high state scores, test results, and local reputations, such as P.S. 8 in Brooklyn Heights, got a “F,” the paper reports, while some evidently underperforming schools got improved grades.
