Shea Legacy to Live On In Local Bathrooms

by

The Staten Island Advance reports that parts of Shea will be with us long after the Stadium yields, with the close of this season, to the Mets’ new Citi Field. You will, for example, find vestiges of Shea in the toilet stalls of city parks. The Parks Department is going to relocate “doors, toilets, sinks, lights and even soap dispensers from rest rooms” and other Shea fixtures to its own facilities. It’s a fitting legacy for a team whose own 2008 destiny seems headed for the crapper.
