As you know, Candace Bushnell has revealed that she’s writing prequel books to Sex and the City, delving into the characters’ earlier years before they were strumpets and commentators. Well, since the movie was basically a sequel (and there’ll be more of them; these gals will eventually become the Golden Girls before our eyes), why not go in the other direction and milk the property for every possible drop of creative and financial juice? I’m serious–I think it’s a great idea!
Bushnell has said she fancies the possibility of Miley Cyrus as Carrie, and I can’t argue with that, as long as dad doesn’t come along as Mr. Big.
And as I said on Showbiz Tonight, my choices for the other roles are:
Vanessa Hudgens as Samantha. She seems like a cougar in training–and it’s high time she went blonde.
Dakota Fanning as Miranda. She’s scarily talented and can definitely play the icy lawyer-to-be. In fact, I’m convinced she can play anything.
Mark Indelicato from Ugly Betty as the gay guy, Anthony. Duh.
And as Charlotte…who cares?
