If you think celeb support gives Obama extra game, the boys with the toys might just advise you to play, play again. Tonight, ART + ACTION = OBAMA 08 rallies prominent toymakers and other contemporary artists who support the senator’s presidential bid by throwing an auction and exhibition of their works. (The funds will go to Obama’s campaign.) Presented by Jailbreak Toys and co-sponsored by Brooklyn music and design store Halcyon the Shop, the evening features the sale of customized Obama action figures hand-painted by the artists themselves–some of whom include Damion Silver, Mars-1, Brin Berliner, and Brent Nolasco. Ron English, whose Abraham Obama image has been getting major buzz, will also be in attendance to sign posters. African Latin-funk band Truth & Soul provide the music.
