Upon Obama’s election, the vision of iconic bard Neil Young and his free world came readily to mind. The emperor of eco-metal has been sending out missives on the electric car lately, tirelessly raising our consciousness so—although as a Powhatan, I still quirk an eyebrow at his colonial chic erotica centered on “Pocahontas”—I’m looking forward to the Canadian freedom fighter’s contributions as an Elder and architect of Obamamerica. By now, you either dig Young’s high lonesome voice or cannot abide it; us’n in the former camp will be rabid getting back to the Garden in the run-up to the Solstice. But I know not to wait to exhale for my beloved “Revolution Blues” or my external autobiography, “Cinnamon Girl.” This time out, Young appears with Ben Keith, Rick Rosas, Chad Cromwell, Anthony Crawford, and wife Pegi Young; Everest and Wilco open.
