Martin Scorsese finally hit Oscar gold with The Departed last year, and—boy!—did his bushy black eyebrows emote his elation (and relief). The Film Society looks back at the movies that led up to the Academy Award with its series, Scorsese Classics. Expect to see hits like Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, and Goodfellas, as well as lesser-seen flicks like the underrated jazzy musical New York, New York, his autobiographical documentary Italianamerican, and his tribute to Bob Dylan, No Direction Home.
