$9 Billion in Unclaimed State Funds Available

If we were the State Comptroller, we’d claim amnesia and use them to close the budget deficit, but Thomas DiNapoli feels it his duty to inform you that New York is sitting on $9 million in unclaimed funds from rebates, dividends, court judgments, etc, and you may search online here to see if any of it is yours. One suburban resident is said to be owed $1.7, and it seems odd that DiNapoli won’t just call him up; what if the poor guy is starving?

The Comptroller warns you that most of the parcels are worth less than $100, and you’ll have to send him a notarized statement to get yours, but in this day and age every little helps.
