Viewing the work of Norwegian artist Børre Saethre is like experiencing a serene acid trip. With each step, from one room to the next, the entire installation is Saethre’s futuristic fantasy world. One second, you’re in a room with luminescent wall-to-wall lights; the next, you’ll find yourself walking through long glass-paneled corridors leading you face-to-face with a life-size unicorn. His environment is created entirely through sculptural and reconstructed interiors, light, and soundscapes, with an aim to immerse the spectator in an out-of-this-world experience that transcends space and time—though it’s really just another realm of reality.
