$40,000 Shirt for Remaining Big Spenders


After an Inauguration Day tank, the market is up this morning, so it’s time for those who can to start spending frivolously again, or so Eton hopes. The Swedish shirtmaker opened a New York flagship store yesterday and unveiled what it calls “the world’s most expensive shirt,” the Eton Diamond, which is “woven from the finest Egyptian cotton and detailed with natural colored diamond studs.” The price: $40,000. We know Obama said it was time to put away childish things, but we’re talking solid comfort here, and with retail in a tailspin, big spenders are going to have to carry the market.
