Gipsy Kings

Gipsy Kings’ catchy, self-proclaimed ‘rumba gitano’—South American rumba rhythms supporting flamenco guitars and singing—is so cinematic and well-tempered, it’s easy to overlook its ubiquity. The way the Latin Grammy-winning French group’s bouncy rhythms and raspy vocals complement movies such as The Big Lebowski and TV shows such as Entourage (both used the ensemble’s iridescent “Hotel California”), as well as their presence in restaurants and on the radio, help you to absorb the music rather than contemplate who the musicians are. You’re supposed to feel it more than think about it, anyway.
