Downtown mediterranean restaurant Il Buco (47 Bond Street) has announced plans to host an “Umbrian Harvest Dinner” on Friday, February 27 in their Wine Cellar. Sommelier Roberto Paris will be serving a selection of Umbrian wines alongside an “olive oil focused menu” designed by Chef Ignacio Mattos to celebrate the 2008 harvest of the restaurant’s olive oil label.
The four-course prix fixe is $100 and includes wine pairings and a copy of “The Harvest,” a film the restaurant’s owner, Donna Lennard, made about a family in Candellara, Italy that has been producing olive oil since 1630. Prior to dinner, Roberto and Donna will conduct private olive oil tastings of il Buco’s 2007 and 2008 Viridens Umbrian extra virgin olive oil at each table.
