The three senescent soldiers who form the company of Gerald Sibleyras’s comedy Heroes appear to have taken the message of David Bowie’s same-titled song to heart (“Though nothing/Will keep us together/We could steal time/Just for one day/We can be heroes”). The veterans plan a great and temporary escape—a desperate journey from the terrace of their retirement home to the top of a nearby hill. Sibleyras’s play, translated by Tom Stoppard, won London’s Olivier Award for Best New Comedy, and now, the Obie-winning Keen Company will give these heroes a showing stateside. John Cullum, Jonathan Hogan, and Ron Holgate play the titular champions.

Tuesdays-Fridays, 8:30 p.m.; Saturdays, 3 p.m.; Sundays, 4 p.m. Starts: Feb. 24. Continues through April 11, 2009
