(David Cronenberg, 1999).
Although scarcely unphilosophical in its implications, David Cronenberg’s assured riff on virtual-reality games is almost buoyant in its creepiness, not to mention unrelentingly blatant in its sexual entendres. This comic cyber-thriller is a rich compost of organic yuck not to mention a wiggier trip than The Matrix, which it anticipated by a few months and might almost be parodying avant la lettre.
