Glasvegas+Ida Maria


The latest in a long line of Scottish Phil Spector obsessives, Glasvegas say exactly what they mean—“My name is Geraldine/I’m your social worker,” for example—in music so sound-stuffed that there’s no room left for irony; their self-titled debut is beautiful and embarrassing in equal measure. Norwegian opener Ida Maria is the funnest Scandinavian indie-rock import so far this year.
