Fish Deemed Brain Food Again


A Swedish study conducted among close to 5,000 15-year-old boys suggests that eating omega 3-rich fish, such as salmon, mackerel and albacore tuna, can help promote healthy brain development and maintain brain health for life.

A study of 2,000 Chinese women showed that those who ate more fresh and dried mushrooms had a lower breast cancer risk. Those who drank green tea daily had an even lower risk.

A Queens man was fired from Whole Foods for eating a tuna fish sandwich that was going to be thrown out along with 30 other day-old sandwiches at the end of his shift.

A new policy came into effect Monday that will ensure labels on fresh meats, fruits, vegetables and other foods will now inform shoppers of where the food originated. Some meat labels will even say where the animal was born, raised and slaughtered.

Dinner reservation website, TableXchange, is set to close April 1. Drew Nieporent of Myriad Restaurant Group (Nobu, Corton) said the site became known for scheduling no-shows.
