The Irish Repertory will take a thorough inventory of the foul rag-and-bone shop of William Butler Yeats’s heart in its latest The Yeats Project. Though better known for his pellucid poetry, Yeats also found time to write more than two dozen plays. The Irish Repertory’s Charlotte Moore and Ciarán O’Reilly will stage all of them, fully mounting eight plays and offering concert readings of the remaining 18 (Yeats: “And say my glory was I had such friends”). Yeats’s plays range from adaptations of Irish lore to blazing symbolist dramas to plays inspired by the Japanese noh form. Corresponding events include poetry readings, panel discussions, a literary evening, and an open mic night.
