You can do it when you’re hungover. You can do it when you’re still drunk. And now, you can do it singing. It’s Brunch the Musical, an ode to the delightful midday melding of two distinct meals into one sweet and salty and slightly intoxicated weekend tradition. The rock musical stars Maxx Mann, the lead singer of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra—the band that did the amped-up version of “Carol of the Bells” that Midwestern houses synchronize their Xmas lights to in YouTube videos. Rick Kunzi’s songs, about things like blueberry pancakes, tips, and staff romances, give us an inside look into the frenzied brunch scene from the point of view of the harried, overworked servers—not an obvious choice: Since when do we care about anything other than when we’ll finally get a refill on our coffee?
Thursdays-Sundays, 8 p.m. Starts: April 2. Continues through April 25, 2009
