The inimitable W.C.Fields stars as a bibulous small-town would-be inventor, scorned by all for his vulgarity, who confounds wife and neighbors when he’s selected as the official escort for a visiting princess. LaCava, who became an outstanding director of slapstick comedies later in the sound era, turned out a very funny silent picture with this one.
