‘Araby’

by

Best known for his sophisticated Indian-tinged rock, bicoastal
musician-composer Chris Rael has set 15 stories from James
Joyce’s Dubliners to music in Araby, a multimedia “chamber musical” for nine-piece ensemble. Autobiographical interludes punctuate story-songs sung from Joyce’s characters’ point of view, with Rael’s videos of Dublin providing an electronic backdrop.

Wednesdays-Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.; Sundays, 3 p.m. Starts: April 8. Continues through April 19, 2009
