Some have slanted season two of HBO’s Flight of the Conchords as sort of weak. Perhaps the showcasing of hapless band-manager Murray’s vocals wasn’t the best idea. But there’s no doubt that, this season, Jemaine’s star shines a little brighter than Bret’s—and that’s been a very good thing (for us Jemaine fans, at least). If you caught the hirsute guys in action last year at Town Hall, you know that the folk-comedy duo, armed with a couple of acoustic guitars, have practiced long and hard to perfect the art of charming onstage awkwardness. Expect them to blend old-school favorites like “Business Time” and “Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenoceros” with songs from the new season. We’ll just be happy with anything that includes their lovely “Sugalumps.”
