(Pernille Fischer Christensen, 2008).
This intense Danish drama, Christensen’s fifth film as director, demonstrates her skill with actors. It concerns a bright young woman who runs her family’s dance studio who falls in love with a shy electrician and discovers that he has been released from jail where he was serving time on rape charges. The picture gradually narrows into a “What did he really do?” mystery and doesn’t build to a satisfactory climax, but it’s well made and the kids in the dancing school are irresistible.
