This should be interesting. India’s most renowned percussionist, Zakir Hussain, is joined by electric banjo virtuoso Béla Fleck and classical bassist Edgar Meyer as part of a five-event “Perspectives” series focusing on the dazzling tabla virtuoso. But don’t try to pigeonhole these cats: Hussain is no stranger to jazz, Fleck recently released an album of African collaborations, and Meyer is a comfortable bluegrass player. Oh, and look for the trio’s Triple Concerto for Banjo, Double Bass and Tabla this fall.
