Dr. Mazoltuv Borukhova, found guilty earlier this month of first-degree murder and conspiracy in the shooting death of her husband, orthodontist Daniel Malakov, has been sentenced to life without parole. She yet maintains her innocence (“I had nothing to do with this murder”). Her convicted triggerman, cousin Mikhail Mallayev, also got life, plus 15 years for weapons possession. Borukhova engaged him to do the shooting for $20,000; he used a homemade silencer made from a Clorox bottle and duct tape (pictured) to muffle the sound as he shot Malakov on a Queens playground last year.
