From Hip Slope Mama to Bed-Stuy Banana, Brooklyn bloggers come in many varieties. According to, Brooklyn (specifically, Clinton Hill) is the “bloggiest neighborhood in America.” But tonight, for once, if you visit your favorite Brooklyn-based blog, you’ll likely hear crickets chirping—that is, unless those bloggers are live-blogging from the Brooklyn Blogfest 2009 at the powerHouse Arena. Among the evening’s events is a panel of well-known Brooklyn bloggers like Jake Dobkin (Gothamist) and Anne Pope (Sustainable Flatbush), group sessions led by bloggers in a variety of categories, and an after-party. The festival is open to those who write blogs, read blogs, or still wonder what a blog is.
