Shepard Fairey isn’t the only street artist who deserves props for getting Obama into the White House. In Abraham Obama, which gets its New York premiere tonight, the artist Ron English examines the entire political art scene surrounding Bam Bam. English created the namesake piece—giant, Warholian color-tinted posters blending the faces of Abraham Lincoln and Barack Obama—that appeared all over South Boston during the election. In the doc, he talks to Fairey, Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me), will.i.am., and others who did their grassroots part to spread the audacity of hope. English will speak in person after the screening.
