Prolific Boston-based singer/songwriter Ferrick is back with a new album, and if the polish and additional instrumentation on 2006’s In the Eyes of Strangers wasn’t your bag, Goodbye Youth undoubtedly is. She’s turned raw again, just her and an acoustic guitar, and that thing is set on confessional mode. She even makes the heavy hands of Bush’s grunge nugget “Glycerine” into something closer, tougher, and torn from the bone. That takes talent. With ex-Northern Stater Hesta Prynn, who’s supporting her own new album, the awesomely titled In Civil Shepherd.
