I’m recalling a solo “Single Petal of a Rose” from years ago that was so gorgeous, it made a Boston audience gasp. That kind of emotional reaction is only slightly out of the ordinary for this veteran South African pianist, who brings something regal to the table as a matter of course. The first three nights of this week’s stint are solo as well; he’s drumming up biz for the new Senzo, which is marked by his signature grace. From Friday on, Ibrahim is surrounded by the horns of his Ekayah ensemble, and while they mostly follow the lines he lays out, they do so in a rich, seductive way.
