New Jay-Z Song Debuts Tonight: “D.O.A.”, Vows Death to Autotune

Well, this is exciting. Rap Radar reports: “So around 9pm tonight EST, Hot 97’s Funkmaster Flex will play the world premiere of Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 single, “D.O.A.” That stands for Death of Autotune as Kanye teased on MTV awhile back. The song was produced by No ID and Mr. West.” So yeah: normally we wouldn’t bother to tease a Flex premiere–given that the radio rip is gonna be available by 9:12 or so, and the version without ten thousand Flex bombs shortly after that–but this is Jay-Z. And there’s a secondary nugget of good news here: Blueprint 3 (which got a release date yesterday) has a single that’s not “Jockin’ Jay-Z,” the much-touted but (if we’re being honest) not-entirely-revelatory song Kanye teased and Jay-Z eventually debuted last year.
