When Cooking, Why Peen, Rather than Penis?


I’m in the midst of writing about Pho Sure–which offers pho with “peen”– and I have a question for all my fellow offal-eaters out there. Why do we call penis “peen” when it’s on our plates? Is that an actual butchery term, or is it just a euphemism–like calling our chop “pork” instead of “pig” so that we can avoid thinking about what we’re actually eating? Actually, I find the term “peen” much creepier than plain old penis.
